Data Strategy

About this blog

This blog is about data strategy. Here I will explore ideas and general principles on creating value out of data. My thinking is heavily influenced by opportunities on the Web (“Web 2.0”) and statistical analysis. I’ll touch on topics such as data acquisition strategies, open vs. proprietary data, data-driven applications, economics of data apps, legal issues (e.g. privacy and copyright), data interface (e.g. “search,” APIs, mashups), and just plain fun/interesting datasets. By no means am I an expert in all these areas, and many posts are in the thinking-out-loud genre. I welcome the reader to participate in shaping many of the ideas. 1. I believe your blog (.com) is a dead-on topic especially given all the activity data quality and data governance.
